IT Project Manager

We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Manager to support portfolio coordination and business analysis activities in Richmond, Virginia. This Long-term Contract position focuses on organizing project information, producing meaningful reporting, and helping leadership evaluate portfolio performance through accurate data and clear visual summaries. The role is well suited for someone who enjoys working with metrics, maintaining documentation, and keeping multiple initiatives aligned through strong communication and follow-through.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, reconcile, and verify project and portfolio information from various sources to support accurate tracking and decision-making.

• Develop recurring portfolio reports, presentation materials, and executive-level dashboards that highlight progress, risks, and performance trends.

• Track budget activity, forecasts, and actual spending to help maintain visibility into project financial status.

• Organize governance and portfolio meetings, document key discussion points, and monitor completion of assigned follow-up actions.

• Assist with intake, planning, and prioritization efforts for new and existing work across the portfolio.

• Maintain current and reliable records within ServiceNow and ensure supporting project documentation stays complete and up to date.

• Analyze portfolio data and translate findings into concise summaries that help tell a clear business story for leadership.

• Build visual reporting tools and metric-based views that communicate portfolio health, milestones, and key operational indicators.

• Contribute to month-end and quarterly reporting cycles, including preparation of materials used in leadership reviews.

• Recommend enhancements to reporting methods, documentation standards, and data quality practices to improve portfolio oversight.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, information technology, management, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work with reporting, documentation, and data analysis in a project, portfolio, or business support environment.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare materials for leadership audiences.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and comfort validating data, maintaining records, and following established procedures.
• Experience with ServiceNow is preferred; familiarity with GitLab or similar collaboration tools is a plus.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, expenditure tracking, dashboards, and governance reporting is preferred.

Compensation

$40.00-$40.00 Hourly
