Bookkeeper

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper for a short-term or long-term contract assignment in Spokane, Washington. This immediate opportunity will provide additional support to an established accounting team and assist with day-to-day bookkeeping activities. The ideal candidate can step in quickly, work independently and has hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and support day-to-day accounts payable activities.
• Record customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
• Enter and review transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
• Perform basic account and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with general ledger entries, journal entries and routine bookkeeping tasks.
• Review financial data, research discrepancies and maintain organized documentation.
• Support payroll processing, including certified or union payroll reporting, if applicable.
• Provide reliable short-term coverage and collaborate with the existing accounting team.

Qualifications:

• Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience in a small- to mid-sized business environment.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop is required.
• Familiarity with AP, AR, bank reconciliations and general ledger activities.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage routine deadlines independently.
• Experience with certified or union payroll is helpful but not required.
• Ability to quickly learn processes, identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
