HR Generalist

About the Role

Our client, a rapidly growing technology and advanced manufacturing organization, is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist for a 3-month contract assignment. This role will oversee day-to-day HR operations and partner closely with company leadership in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented HR professional who can work independently with minimal direction and is comfortable managing a broad range of HR functions, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, HRIS administration, employee data management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end employee onboarding process, including HRIS data entry, onboarding documentation, orientation, and employee setup
• Manage employee records and ensure accuracy and data integrity across HR systems
• Support weekly payroll processing, including timesheet validation, payroll data entry, and reconciliation
• Administer employee benefits and retirement programs, including enrollment, 401(k) contributions, and related documentation
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to maintain HR data, track headcount, run reports, and support payroll and benefits administration
• Partner with the recruiting team on talent acquisition support, including interview scheduling and coordination
• Manage employee leave administration, including tracking leaves and required documentation
• Coordinate employee offboarding and ensure all required documentation and system updates are completed
• Serve as a resource for employees and management regarding day-to-day HR questions and processes
• Support employee relations, training initiatives, compensation-related projects, and policy updates
• Partner with Finance and leadership on payroll, employee data, and other HR-related processes
• Maintain compliance with applicable California employment laws and regulations
• Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and develop efficient, scalable workflows
• Handle confidential employee information with a high degree of discretion and professionalism
• Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or growing environment
• Hands-on experience with payroll processing and HRIS administration
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now strongly preferred
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis
• Strong understanding of employee onboarding, benefits administration, and HR data management
• Working knowledge of California employment laws and leave requirements
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when handling confidential employee information
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple responsibilities, and operate with minimal direction
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working in a technology-driven, rapidly evolving environment
