Accounting Manager/Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to lead revenue accounting activities for a SaaS business. This position plays an important role in ensuring revenue is recorded accurately, contracts are evaluated appropriately, and monthly close responsibilities are completed with strong control over billing-related processes. The role also partners closely with cross-functional teams and provides day-to-day leadership to billing operations while supporting broader accounting priorities.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end revenue accounting process for subscription-based operations, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and accurate treatment of recognized and deferred revenue.

• Evaluate and approve sales orders in NetSuite, confirming alignment between contract terms, billing structure, and accounting treatment.

• Oversee contract cancellation and credit memo activity across NetSuite and Salesforce to ensure timely and accurate updates to customer billing records.

• Act as the primary accounting resource for complex revenue and billing questions, providing guidance to internal teams on technical scenarios.

• Partner with Billing, Legal, and Customer Success to review non-standard customer agreements and determine appropriate revenue handling.

• Direct the monthly revenue close process, including reconciliations, journal entry support, and coordination of related reporting deadlines.

• Support accounts receivable analysis, reserve considerations, and other close-related accounting tasks to maintain accurate financial records.

• Supervise and develop the Billing Manager through coaching, performance feedback, and process-oriented leadership.

• Provide backup support for semi-monthly payroll processing and related benefits reconciliations when coverage is needed.

• Contribute to audits, process enhancements, and system-related projects that strengthen accounting operations and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close activities.
• Prior experience in a SaaS or subscription-based environment with strong knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop direct reports in an accounting or billing function.
• Working knowledge of account reconciliations, journal entries, general ledger activity, and audit support.
• Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, and Paylocity is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort using technology or AI-enabled tools to improve workflow efficiency.
• Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

$90,000.00-$130,000.00 Yearly
