Assistant Controller

Our client is seeking a hands-on Assistant Controller to support accounting operations in a lean, fast-paced environment. This opportunity is ideal for a strong accounting detail oriented who is ready to take on broader responsibility, partner closely with leadership, and grow over time. The Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, support financial reporting and consolidations, and help leadership manage the business through accurate and timely financial information. The ideal candidate is sharp, trustworthy, adaptable, and comfortable working through high-volume transactions, intercompany activity, and confidential financial matters. This role requires someone who exercises sound judgment, learns quickly, and thrives in an environment where flexibility and initiative are essential. Key Requirements: Required experience in distribution and import/export Mandarin language proficiency required Strong background in multi-entity accounting and consolidated financial reporting Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and MAS90 / Sage 100 Responsibilities: Support and oversee accounting operations, ensuring accurate records and consistent financial practices across multiple entities. Prepare, review, and post journal entries to maintain timely and accurate general ledger activity. Use QuickBooks and MAS90 / Sage 100 to manage accounting transactions, reporting, and financial data integrity. Partner with international business contacts to gather information needed for consolidated financial statement preparation. Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including account reconciliations and multi-entity financial reporting. Help manage high-volume transactions and intercompany activity with strong attention to accuracy, internal controls, and confidentiality. Support inventory-related accounting and forecasting efforts, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve planning and reporting processes. Work closely with leadership to provide reliable financial information and support ongoing business operations.

Qualifications:

Qualifications: Proven experience in an Assistant Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, or similar hands-on accounting leadership role. Required background in distribution and import/export environments. Mandarin language proficiency is required for communication with international business partners. Experience with consolidated financial reporting in a multi-entity environment. Strong general ledger experience, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and Sage 100 / MAS90. High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive financial information. Ability to adapt quickly, work effectively in a lean team, and take on increasing responsibility over time. Experience with inventory analysis, inventory accounting, or forecasting is strongly preferred.

$100,000.00-$140,000.00 Yearly
