Senior Fraud Analyst
We are seeking a Senior Fraud Analyst for a 3-month contract opportunity, with potential for extension. This role focuses on transaction monitoring, fraud decisioning, and rule optimization for a card portfolio. The ideal candidate is analytical, self-directed, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Review card authorization activity and make fraud-related transaction decisions.
- Develop and optimize fraud rules based on transaction velocity, spending patterns, and merchant risk.
- Analyze transaction data to identify emerging fraud trends and improve detection strategies.
- Balance fraud prevention with customer experience by minimizing false declines.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve authorization outcomes and fraud response effectiveness.
- Implement and manage fraud controls using issuer fraud and decisioning platforms.
- Apply knowledge of card authorization processes, interchange, and decline codes to support effective decision-making.
- Adapt quickly in a dynamic environment while taking ownership of key fraud initiatives.
Qualifications:
• Significant experience handling issuer-side fraud monitoring and authorization decisioning for card programs.• Proven ability to create, tune, and improve fraud rules in a live transaction environment.
• Strong analytical capability with the judgment to turn transaction data into effective fraud prevention actions.
• Solid understanding of payment network authorization flows, decline code behavior, and interchange fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with fraud platforms or rule engines such as Falcon, Forter, Sardine, Sift, or comparable solutions.
• Prior background within an issuing bank, sponsor organization, or card program management environment.
• Experience focused only on merchant acquiring or payment processing is not sufficient for this role.
• Ability to succeed in a startup environment with a high level of ownership and flexibility.
Compensation
