Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join a wholesale distribution organization in Pineville, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract opportunity is well suited for someone who combines strong accounting knowledge with confidence using business systems and handling high-volume transaction work in an on-site setting. The ideal candidate brings experience in receivables, commercial collections, cash application, and billing while supporting accurate financial activity across day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:
• Manage daily accounts receivable activities, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation to maintain accurate customer balances.
• Apply incoming cash accurately and investigate discrepancies to ensure payments are recorded correctly and resolved quickly.
• Conduct commercial collections outreach with customers to follow up on overdue balances and support timely payment resolution.
• Review billing transactions for accuracy, address account issues, and coordinate with internal teams to correct exceptions.
• Monitor cash activity and prepare documentation that supports clear visibility into outstanding receivables and collection status.
• Assist with credit and transactional accounting tasks that contribute to smooth month-to-month financial operations.
• Use accounting and business systems efficiently to research account details, update records, and support reporting needs.
• Contribute to a collaborative environment by helping stabilize workload coverage and supporting continuity within receivables operations.

Qualifications:

• Experience in accounts receivable, credit, collections, or staff accounting within a transactional finance environment.
• Working knowledge of cash applications, billing processes, and commercial collections practices.
• Strong computer and systems proficiency, with the ability to learn and navigate accounting platforms efficiently.
• Ability to analyze account activity, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Comfortable working in an on-site office setting in Pineville, North Carolina.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal stakeholders regarding account status and payment issues.
• Prior experience in wholesale distribution, construction-related accounting, or similar operational industries is preferred.

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
