Project Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts for multiple entities and ensure supporting records are accurate and complete.
• Investigate differences in financial data by reviewing information across accounting systems and spreadsheet-based documentation.
• Create and record journal entries to support routine accounting activity and maintain reliable ledger balances.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks by preparing schedules and completing assigned accounting deliverables.
• Upload journal-related documentation and help preserve well-organized general ledger records for audit readiness.
• Build and maintain Excel-based reconciliation files, analysis schedules, and other supporting financial workpapers.
• Contribute to accounting cleanup efforts and provide support for work connected to system-related accounting changes.
• Collaborate with accounting leadership and team members to address priority reconciliation items and close deadlines.
• Offer broader accounting assistance as needed, including potential support for payables-related projects.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience performing account reconciliations and working within the general ledger.• Background supporting month-end close processes and preparing journal entries.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize and analyze financial data efficiently.
• Hands-on experience with Abila MIP is required.
• Familiarity with Bill.com and Sage is preferred.
• High attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and follow issues through resolution.
• Ability to work independently in an onsite, permanent contract role in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
