Tax Senior - Public

Tyler Houk With Robert Half is looking for an experienced Tax Senior to join a public accounting team in Bakersfield, California. This role focuses on preparing and reviewing a range of tax filings while supporting clients with accurate, timely compliance services. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced CPA firm environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns with a high level of accuracy and attention to deadlines.

• Organize, analyze, and validate client financial information to support complete and compliant tax filings.

• Manage tax preparation workflows for multiple engagements while maintaining consistent communication on status and open items.

• Apply current tax rules and firm standards to identify filing issues, resolve discrepancies, and support quality deliverables.

• Use CCH ProSystem and CCH ProSystem Fx tools to complete return preparation, documentation, and related tax processes.

• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to gather required documents, clarify tax matters, and address follow-up questions efficiently.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.
• Demonstrated experience preparing individual tax returns in a detail-focused services environment.
• Proven ability to prepare corporate tax returns accurately and efficiently.
• Working knowledge of tax preparation software, including CCH ProSystem and CCH ProSystem Fx.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review financial data and identify inconsistencies.
• Effective communication and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and client needs.

Compensation

$85,000.00-$115,000.00 Yearly
