Accounting Clerk

A well-established construction services company in Escondido is looking for an Accounting Clerk to provide day-to-day support to its accounting department. This is a great opportunity for someone with some accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience who wants to build a stronger foundation in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting. You'll work closely with the accounting team, project managers, and vendors while learning how financial transactions flow through a busy construction organization.

Responsibilities

• Enter vendor invoices and customer transactions into the accounting system
• Assist with Accounts Payable invoice processing
• Match invoices with purchase orders and supporting documentation
• Assist with customer billing and payment posting
• Perform basic account and statement reconciliations
• Maintain organized vendor and customer records
• Enter job and cost information accurately
• Assist with check runs and payment documentation
• Research discrepancies and route issues to the appropriate team member
• Prepare spreadsheets and basic accounting reports
• Assist with month-end filing and accounting projects

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of accounting, bookkeeping, data entry, or office experience
• Construction experience is a plus but not required
• Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
• Basic Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Reliable, organized, and willing to learn
• Accounting coursework or an Associate's degree is a plus
