Release of Information Specialist

We are looking for a Release of Information Specialist to join our team that is based in Henderson, NV. The Release of Information Specialist role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage office operations while supporting healthcare-related functions. The Release of Information Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth workflows and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities:

• Review and validate requests for medical records to ensure proper authorization and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to locate, prepare, and distribute requested records.

• Maintain a detailed log of released records and ensure confidentiality throughout the process.

• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and third-party requestors to clarify documentation and resolve inquiries.

• Ensure quality and accuracy in every step of the record release process.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Health Information Clerk, Medical Records Clerk, Health Information Specialist, or similar healthcare administrative role required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare documentation, and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Meditech, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
