HR Assistant

A growing medical device company in Carlsbad is looking for an HR Assistant to join its People team and provide hands-on support across the employee lifecycle. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants exposure to recruiting, onboarding, employee records, benefits, and HR administration.

You'll work alongside experienced HR professionals and interact with employees across multiple departments. The ideal candidate is organized, approachable, and excited to build a long-term career in Human Resources.

Responsibilities

• Assist with new hire onboarding and orientation
• Prepare employment paperwork and maintain personnel files
• Coordinate background checks and employment verifications
• Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates
• Update employee information within the HRIS
• Assist with benefits enrollment and employee questions
• Track required training and employee documentation
• Support HR reporting and data entry
• Assist with company events and employee engagement activities
• Provide general administrative support to the HR department

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is a plus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Experience with an HRIS is preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally
• SHRM or HRCI coursework/certification is a plus
