Responsibilities

MSA is seeking a results-driven Senior Field Sales Manager to drive growth across the Mid-Atlantic region for our First Responder portfolio, including Globe Firefighter Turnout Gear, SCBA, Portable Gas Detection Instruments, Cairns® Fire Helmets, and related PPE solutions.

 

Reporting to the Regional Sales Development Manager, this field-based role is responsible for territory growth, channel partner development, strategic account management, competitive conversions, and customer engagement. The successful candidate will combine strong sales skills, technical expertise, and relationship-building capabilities to expand market share and deliver solutions that help protect firefighters and first responders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth and market share expansion across the assigned territory.
  • Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with revenue and growth objectives.
  • Support, develop, and train channel partners while expanding end-user relationships.
  • Build relationships with fire chiefs, training officers, firefighters, distributors, municipal leaders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Identify, develop, and close opportunities within strategic accounts and competitive conversions.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, evaluations, in-service training, and implementation support.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and channel partners to deliver customer-focused solutions.
  • Capture and communicate Voice of Customer (VOC), competitive intelligence, and market trends.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and account activity in Salesforce.
  • Represent MSA at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Proven success in consultative sales, account management, or business development.
  • Strong relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical product solutions.
  • Experience delivering customer training and product education.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational and territory management skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a field-based environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the territory and work occasional evenings and weekends.

Education & Experience

This position may be filled at the Senior Field Sales Manager II, III, or IV level based on qualifications and experience. High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • This position is available at three career levels, based on experience and education:
    • Level II: Minimum 4 years of sales experience
    • Level III: Minimum 5 years of sales experience
    • Level IV: Minimum of 6 years of sales experience
  • A master’s degree in a related field may substitute for up to two years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fire Science, Public Administration, or a related field. Four years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience selling firefighter PPE, respiratory protection, gas detection, safety equipment, or related first responder solutions.
  • Established relationships within municipal fire departments, fire service organizations, or distributor networks in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Knowledge of municipal procurement processes and public-sector purchasing.
  • Demonstrated success growing business through strategic account management and channel partner development.
