Job Description:

The Department of Cybersecurity & Networking seeks experienced Cybersecurity Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses on an as-needed basis.

The ideal candidate brings real-world industry experience across core cybersecurity domains and a strong commitment to student success and practical instruction. Adjunct faculty are responsible for delivering curriculum, evaluating student performance, facilitating hands-on lab exercises, and integrating current industry standards such as emerging AI technologies, threat landscapes, and modern defensive/offensive practices into the classroom environment.

Potential Subject Areas May Include:

  • Network Security & Defense
  • Penetration Testing, Ethical Hacking, & Offensive Security
  • AI & Machine Learning Applications in Cybersecurity
  • Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)
  • Security Architecture, Risk Management, & Compliance
  • Fundamental & Advanced Networking Concepts




Job Requirements:
  • Education: Master's Degree required in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related STEM field. (Doctorate or relevant terminal degree preferred).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional industry experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field. Prior higher education teaching or professional training experience is highly desirable.
  • Certifications & Skills:
    • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse student populations.
    • Industry-standard security certifications (e.g., CISSP, OSCP, CISM, GPEN, Security+) are strongly preferred.
    • Exposure to modern technical tools, including AI/LLM integration in technical workflows, automated vulnerability scanning, or defensive automation, is a plus.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
