Plant Materials Manager
Purpose:

Delta Faucet Company is searching for a Component Distribution Leader for our Jackson TN 3PL facility to build upon and sustain the growth of the business in order to meet our critical initiatives.
The Manager ensures that safety, customer service, quality, and budget objectives are fulfilled every day. This position also ensures all distribution operations, policies, and procedures are performed in a safe, productive, and efficient manner, while encouraging good working relationships and building morale within the site and the community.
Nature & Scope:
The Component Distribution Leader will have the responsibility for all aspects of the 350K Sq. ft., ~350 employee 3PL partner operation through effective leadership and delegation of appropriate responsibilities. The position reports to the Site Director at the Jackson, TN facility. This position will be working directly with the site leader of a 3rd party logistics provider at the Milan, TN site to ensure distribution to the Jackson TN, Morgantown KY, and Greensburg IN manufacturing facilities. In addition, this facility is responsible for receipt of all inbound component supply from both domestic and international suppliers and pick / ship to sequence for the Jackson TN facility.
This role ensures that component distribution activities are conducted in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees and the environment. This position provides for the safekeeping of all company assets located on site. The incumbent will prepare yearly capital, labor and expense budgets and represent the organization in community groups and programs.
Support and collaboration between all sites across the domestic manufacturing and distribution network is needed for success.
Distribution includes pick to sequence of a various types of products and high sku complexity including machined brass and stainless-steel components, brazed brass and copper components, finished (including Plating and Coating), injection molding, and sub-assembly.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains targeted safety, quality, delivery, and cost levels
- Builds and implements plans to improve upon targeted goals
- Prepares site budgets and is responsible for the business to meet/exceed budgets
- Maintains and promotes safety as a culture so that safety and health standards are met. Assures compliance to all local, state and federal rules and regulations as they relate to labor, environment and safety
- Works in concert with 3PL site leader to provides leadership to the employees of the site to develop personal growth throughout the organization
- Promotes and encourages good communication with the work force, allowing for an empowered environment
- Directly coordinates ISO or equivalent activities, including Quality, Environmental, and Safety programs and culture
- Develops and communicates site strategies aligned with corporate strategy and initiatives
- Implements company directives, policies, and procedures
- Applies principles of the Masco Operating System (MOS) throughout the operation
- Serves as point of contact for and represents the company in local business community
Education & Experience:
- The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum 10 years of related management; or a combination of experience and education
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to efficiently connect with all levels of an organization is required
- This person must exhibit a high degree of integrity characterized by sound judgment, high ethical standards, and leadership capabilities
- A background in leading and applying continuous improvement culture and principles, such as the Toyota Production System (TPS), is required; The incumbent must be able to learn and apply knowledge in a rapidly changing environment using data and validated problem-solving techniques
- A comprehensive understanding of the plumbing industry and Delta Faucet’s methods would be beneficial.
Preferred:
- Master's degree & equivalent experience.
- DMAIC certification
