Bookkeeper

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support a services organization in Mandeville, Louisiana on a contract basis. This short-term assignment is expected to last one week and will focus on bringing financial records up to date with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing core bookkeeping activities, and using QuickBooks to maintain organized and reliable accounting records.

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile client bank accounts and resolve outstanding discrepancies to ensure financial records are current and accurate.

• Process accounts payable transactions, verify supporting documentation, and help keep vendor payments organized.

• Manage accounts receivable activity, including recording incoming payments and tracking open balances.

• Update bookkeeping records in QuickBooks with careful attention to completeness and consistency.

• Review existing financial entries, identify missing or incorrect information, and make appropriate corrections.

• Support a short-term catch-up effort by prioritizing urgent accounting tasks and meeting assignment deadlines.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience performing bookkeeping duties in a detail-focused business environment.
• Hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks for day-to-day accounting and record maintenance.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing and updating financial information.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within a one-week contract engagement.
• Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bookkeeping priorities efficiently.

Compensation

$30.00-$32.00 Hourly
