Senior Tax Manager

Compensation: $135 to $155 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead sophisticated tax engagements and serve as a trusted advisor to clients in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. This role combines deep technical tax knowledge with strong leadership, allowing you to guide complex compliance and planning efforts while supporting the development of tax professionals. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong relationship management skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work across a diverse client portfolio.


Responsibilities:

• Direct the review and preparation of complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax filings to maintain accuracy, compliance, and consistency.

• Advise clients on tax-saving opportunities through forward-looking planning, technical analysis, and practical recommendations tailored to their business needs.

• Manage important client relationships by providing timely communication, dependable guidance, and a high standard of service.

• Oversee the work of tax staff and managers, offering coaching, feedback, and technical support to strengthen team performance.

• Research complicated federal, state, and local tax matters and document conclusions in clear, well-supported memoranda.

• Collaborate with internal teams to uncover additional ways to support clients and broaden the scope of services provided.

• Contribute to operational improvement efforts, staff training, and other firm-wide initiatives that enhance efficiency and quality.

• Apply financial statement knowledge and tax software expertise to support effective return preparation, review, and engagement execution.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline is required.
• Seven or more years of progressive tax experience, including substantial exposure to complex returns and client advisory work.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent credential is typically required.
• Demonstrated expertise in preparing and reviewing Form 1040, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
• Strong command of federal, state, and local tax regulations, along with the ability to resolve advanced technical issues.
• Experience using tax compliance software, including CCH ProSystem fx or comparable platforms.
• Ability to manage an active book of business while onboarding new client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
• Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation and experience advising passthrough entities with revenues up to $100 million.

Compensation

$135,000.00-$155,000.00 Yearly
