Grant Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Manage the accounting lifecycle for multiple grants, ensuring financial activity is recorded accurately and aligned with funding requirements.
• Prepare and review grant-related financial reports, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
• Monitor expenditures against awarded budgets and help maintain compliance with state, federal, and foundation grant guidelines.
• Partner with finance leadership to provide day-to-day support for grant administration during a contract leave coverage period.
• Coordinate with supporting grant accounting staff to keep workflows organized and maintain timely month-end and grant reporting processes.
• Use Sage Intacct to track grant transactions, maintain fund-level reporting, and support accounting operations in a multi-grant setting.
• Analyze funding activity and resolve discrepancies related to grant balances, allocations, and reporting details.
• Assist with audit preparation and documentation by organizing records and responding to requests tied to grant-funded programs.
Qualifications:
• 5-10 years of experience in grant accounting, including direct work with government, foundation, and other restricted funding sources.• Strong hands-on experience with Sage Intacct in a high-volume, multi-grant accounting environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of grant management, fund administration, and financial compliance practices.
• Ability to prepare accurate financial reporting and perform detailed account reconciliations across multiple funding streams.
• Experience supporting accounting operations for state and federal grants.
• Solid understanding of NAV and related financial tracking concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a contract assignment.
• Availability to work onsite in Boston, Massachusetts two days per week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Compensation
