Sr. Revenue Accountant

Compensation: $110 to $130 Yearly

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Revenue Accountant to support accurate financial reporting and oversee revenue-related accounting activities in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is ideal for someone with a strong command of ASC 606 and a proven ability to interpret revenue data, resolve discrepancies, and strengthen reporting accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with finance and operational partners to ensure revenue is recorded in compliance with accounting standards and business requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily and monthly revenue accounting activities to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Review contracts and billing arrangements to determine proper revenue treatment under ASC 606 guidelines.
• Analyze revenue trends, variances, and account activity to identify issues and provide meaningful financial insight.
• Prepare and maintain reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation related to revenue reporting.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve revenue-related questions, improve processes, and support reporting needs.
• Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing journal entries and validating revenue balances.
• Contribute to audits by organizing documentation, responding to inquiries, and supporting compliance with internal controls.
• Support revenue reporting within the oil and gas environment, including review of industry-specific activity and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in revenue accounting or a closely related accounting function.
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including practical application of ASC 606.
• Experience analyzing revenue activity and preparing accurate financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of core accounting practices, reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
• Background in oil and gas revenue reporting is required.
• Proficiency in reviewing data for accuracy, investigating variances, and resolving discrepancies.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance and operational teams.

Compensation

$110,000.00-$130,000.00 Yearly
