Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Mountain Home, Arkansas. This position will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, preparing tax-related documentation, and ensuring daily accounting activity is completed with precision. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of general ledger processes, journal entry preparation, and corporate and sales tax practices.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support month-end and ongoing accounting accuracy.
• Assist with the preparation of corporate tax filings and related supporting documentation.
• Manage sales tax reporting activities, including reviewing transactions and helping ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
• Maintain organized accounting records and schedules to support audits, reporting, and internal review needs.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information and resolve accounting questions as they arise.

Qualifications:

• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of general ledger activity and account reconciliation processes.
• Ability to prepare accurate journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Familiarity with corporate tax concepts and corporate tax return preparation.
• Experience handling sales tax reporting and compliance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a structured accounting environment.

Compensation

$32.35-$37.46 Hourly
