Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support financial operations for a manufacturing environment in Salem, New Hampshire. This Contract position calls for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can oversee close activities, maintain accurate ledger records, and help ensure reliable financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:
• Lead the monthly close process by coordinating timelines, reviewing results, and ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through detailed review, oversight of accounting activity, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate support, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items to support accurate financial reporting.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external auditors by organizing schedules, providing documentation, and addressing questions during financial statement audits.
• Review financial data for completeness and consistency, identifying issues early and implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Support accounting operations within a manufacturing setting, including analysis of transactions and reporting tied to production-related activities.
• Utilize Great Plains to manage accounting records, generate reports, and support daily financial processes effectively.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including responsibility for close cycles and ledger management.
• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close, general ledger oversight, and account reconciliation.
• Experience preparing journal entries and supporting financial statement audit activities.
• Working knowledge of Great Plains and the ability to navigate accounting systems efficiently.
• Background in manufacturing accounting with an understanding of related financial processes.
• Strong analytical skills with careful attention to accuracy, organization, and follow-through.
• Ability to work independently in a Contract role while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Compensation

$51.46-$65.00 Hourly
