Sr. Accountant
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and consolidate recurring monthly accounting and operational reports to ensure timely and accurate financial visibility.
• Investigate reporting discrepancies by reviewing source data, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and completing reconciliations as needed.
• Reconcile raw milk receipt activity with supplier and plant records at both mid-month and month-end intervals.
• Submit completed reporting to applicable state and federal regulatory bodies in accordance with required deadlines.
• Examine milk billing documentation, organize charges by customer, and support invoice preparation.
• Contribute to audit readiness by gathering documentation and assisting with dairy reporting reviews.
• Maintain bill of material records, update standard cost information, and communicate the financial effect of master data changes.
• Support fiscal year-end close activities, including audit preparation and related account analysis.
• Generate monthly loss summaries, prepare customer-level loss reporting when requested, and evaluate results against contractual terms before sharing insights with leadership.
Qualifications:
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility in reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger activity, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience performing account reconciliations and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Background in cost accounting, including standard cost maintenance and analysis of cost-related data.
• Ability to identify errors, investigate variances, and collaborate with multiple departments to resolve issues.
• Proficiency in working with large data sets and preparing clear, accurate reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and audit support tasks.
Compensation
