Remote Litigation Paralegal
A California plaintiff-side consumer litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal for temporary paternity leave coverage through November 2026. The ideal candidate will have hands-on California litigation experience and be comfortable stepping into an active caseload with minimal ramp-up.

- Prepare, electronically file, and serve court documents using One Legal and File & ServeXpress, ensuring filings comply with applicable court requirements.
- Coordinate delivery of required courtesy copies, including arranging alternative vendors when individual courts have specific delivery requirements.
- Prepare first drafts of California Judicial Council forms using Clio Draft, including Case Management Conference statements, notices of entry of orders, and other routine forms.
- Finalize complaints and prepare accompanying documents for filing, including civil case cover sheets, summonses, and related materials.
- Coordinate service of process for complaints, summonses, and other initial filings through One Legal.
- Prepare routine litigation filings, notices, and related documents.
- Finalize and serve discovery and other litigation documents on opposing counsel.
- Prepare third-party subpoenas and coordinate subpoena processing and service with outside vendors, including Titan Legal Services.
- Coordinate remote depositions with outside vendors, including Magna, and circulate Zoom links and related deposition information.
- Calendar court dates, litigation deadlines, and other case-related events using PracticePanther and LawToolBox based on incoming filings, orders, notices, correspondence, and other case activity.
- Conduct biweekly docket reviews of all active California state court matters to verify that hearings, deadlines, and other required dates have been accurately calendared.
- Maintain accurate filing and service records and route filing-related expense documentation internally as required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting California state court litigation, preferably within a plaintiff-side litigation practice.
- Strong hands-on experience with California electronic court filing, electronic service, and litigation calendaring.
- Experience preparing California Judicial Council forms, complaints and accompanying filings, discovery documents, notices, subpoenas, and other routine litigation materials.
- Working knowledge of California litigation procedures, court rules, filing requirements, and deadline calculation.
- Experience coordinating service of process, third-party subpoenas, and depositions.
- Ability to independently review court dockets and identify dates, deadlines, or case activity requiring calendaring or follow-up.
- Experience with One Legal and/or File & ServeXpress strongly preferred.
- Experience with PracticePanther, LawToolBox, Clio Draft, Titan Legal Services, and Magna is helpful but not required if the candidate has comparable litigation technology and vendor experience.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and quickly assume responsibility for an active litigation workflow during a temporary leave coverage.
