Full Charge Bookkeeper
Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Full Charge Bookkeeper for our client, an innovative company in the biotech industry based in San Diego, California. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can oversee day-to-day bookkeeping functions, maintain accurate financial records, and support overall financial operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
The Full Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions for the organization
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries and month-end close support
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Generate financial statements and internal accounting reports
- Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting support
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Support audits, tax preparation, and other reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows and processes
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in bookkeeping or full charge bookkeeping
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting processes
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
- Ability to prepare financial reports and maintain accurate supporting documentation
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- Biotech, life sciences, or regulated industry experience is a plus
Preferred Skills
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
Compensation
