Sr Accountant
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting Support
- Serve as a trusted accounting consultant for clients across various industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, retail, distribution, logistics, financial services, and professional services.
- Assess current accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement, standardization, and automation.
- Provide hands-on support for day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting requirements.
- Quickly adapt to new business environments, systems, and organizational structures.
General Ledger & Financial Reporting
- Manage full-cycle general ledger accounting activities and ensure compliance with GAAP and client-specific accounting policies.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany activity, and other complex transactions.
- Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement reviews to ensure financial accuracy.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for management and stakeholders.
- Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, identifying key business drivers and trends.
Month-End Close Leadership
- Lead or support accelerated month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement best practices to improve close efficiency and accuracy.
- Establish close calendars, workflows, and reporting processes to support timely financial reporting.
- Train client teams on close procedures and accounting best practices.
Complex Reconciliations & Accounting Remediation
- Perform complex account reconciliations involving multiple entities, high-volume transactions, intercompany accounts, and legacy accounting issues.
- Investigate and resolve aged reconciling items and balance sheet discrepancies.
- Support accounting clean-up initiatives, historical account analyses, and financial restatements when necessary.
- Strengthen reconciliation processes and internal controls.
ERP Implementation & Transformation
- Support ERP implementation, conversion, integration, and optimization initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between finance, accounting, business, and technology teams.
- Assist with system configuration reviews, testing, data validation, cutover activities, and post-go-live support.
- Leverage expertise in:
- SAP S/4HANA
- Oracle Fusion Cloud
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- NetSuite
- Support process mapping, workflow design, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Develop system-related accounting procedures and training documentation.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Evaluate accounting workflows and recommend scalable, efficient solutions.
- Implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, productivity, and internal controls.
- Utilize technology and reporting tools to automate manual accounting processes.
- Create executive-level reporting dashboards and analytical tools.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting and consulting experience.
- Demonstrated success supporting multiple clients, industries, or business environments.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Extensive general ledger and month-end close experience.
- Expertise performing complex balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysis.
- Experience with ERP implementations, upgrades, conversions, or system optimization projects.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including:
- Pivot Tables
- XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- Power Query
- Power Pivot
- Financial modeling
- Large dataset analysis
- Dashboard development
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- Consulting experience through a public accounting firm, advisory firm, or professional services organization.
- Experience leading finance transformation projects.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, or other reporting and analytics platforms.
- Multi-entity and multi-location accounting experience.

Compensation
