Responsibilities
Field all sustaining engineering requests for Respiratory Protection Products.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and clarify the request’s business case; providing timely feedback on disposition them.
- For high priority issues, establish due dates with stakeholders and product leadership.
Conduct regular meetings with Global Engineering Managers and their team to discuss Sustaining Engineering activities.
- Establish priorities, assign resources.
- For active requests, monitor progress, supporting individual contributors to ensure completion of requests, meeting critical expectations of stakeholders while balancing team workload.
Participate in regular meetings with business leaders from marketing, sales, production and quality.
- Report out top priority sustaining engineering projects during cross functional reviews.
- Track anticipated launch dates for high priority tickets.
Participate in product evaluations.
- Provide feedback through the RFEA process.
Facilitate the movement of the Sustaining Engineering efforts through indirect engineering disciplines which include the Material Science, Verification & Validation, and Compliance & Documentation.
- Provide clear direction on their assignments and help prioritize their efforts. Assign due dates via Jira RFEA Service Desk for Tier 1 tickets.
As a Regional Leader, identify opportunities for process improvements pertaining to Sustaining or other Engineering activities. Align and discuss those with the NNA Sustaining Engineering Coordinator.
- Develop implementation strategies to push these improvements forward.
Qualifications
This role is posted at two levels based on experience and education:
Level: Principal I Engineer
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related appropriate discipline
required, preferably from an ABET accredited
program. - Advanced technical degree or coursework
expected. - Continuing education expected.
Experience Required:
- 7 years relevant experience.
- MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years
of relevant experience. - PhD may be substituted
for up to 4 years of equivalent experience.
- MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years
Level: Principal II Engineer:
Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related appropriate discipline
required, preferably from an ABET accredited
program. - Advanced technical degree from an accredited
college or university. - Continuing education expected.
Experience Required:
- 9 years relevant experience.
- MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years
of relevant experience. - PhD may be substituted
for up to 4 years of equivalent experience.
