Lead Systems Operations Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Lead Systems Operations Engineer for Change Risk Assessable Unit (RAU) Team. This is a high-impact role designed to bridge the gap between process maturity and executive strategy. This role will be within a tiger team responsible for maturing or defining business models and complimentary technical solutions that are deployed across the line of business. In this position, you will ensure the delivery of the models and translate the triumphs into compelling narratives that win over stakeholders, while also managing demand to ensure the department focuses on the highest-value work.


In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for risk and regulatory inquiries related to IT Technology Change Management
  • Ensure effective design, assessment, monitoring and execution of standards and controls related to the technology change management
  • Perform and coach team members on leading walkthroughs for front-line control evaluations and internal/external audits or assessment, and establish best practices
  • Lead meetings with key stakeholders to facilitate decision making and support implementation of recommendations and plans
  • Make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Communicate clearly and concisely and distill complex data and concepts into succinct messaging and presentations
  • Provide expert consulting to ensure change management practices align with enterprise frameworks (e.g., COBIT, FFIEC, ITIL), strategic roadmaps, internal policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations
  • Analyze and document performance trends and data insights for communication with business and risk leadership


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of risk management, business controls, quality assurance, compliance, or process experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, testing, and/or executing controls
  • 3+ years in creating, maintaining, and managing reports and management presentations
  • 3+ years of experience with change management, or equivalent ITSM experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to independently drive problem solving for complex scenarios (e.g. develop hypothesis, structure problems, drive analyses, and design solutions)
  • Ability to create concise executive-level communications and presentations to tell a compelling story
  • Ability to lead a team across all organizational levels; partnering with business leaders to achieve key goals through flexibility, collaboration, influence and adaptability
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational procedures, operations, complaints management, and applicable risk and compliance principles, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Knowledgeable on industry frameworks including: COBIT2019, FFIEC and ITIL
  • Willingness to learn & adopt emerging technologies (AI/ML, AIOps, Predictive Analytics) used in IT Industry for change management.
