Assistant Controller
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly closing activities and help ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, preparing journal entries, and resolving discrepancies.
• Reconcile subsidiary records to control accounts and confirm the integrity of financial data across reporting systems.
• Prepare detailed financial statements and supporting schedules, including balance sheet and income statement reporting.
• Evaluate cost trends, revenue patterns, and financial obligations to support forecasting and business planning.
• Assist with audit readiness by organizing documentation, responding to requests, and supporting financial statement audit activities.
• Apply accounting practices aligned with DCAA expectations and other applicable compliance standards.
• Provide guidance to accounting support staff and review selected work products for completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.• Strong working knowledge of general ledger management, account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing related schedules or documentation.
• Familiarity with DCAA requirements and compliance-driven accounting practices.
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and analyze accounting data effectively.
• Advanced attention to detail with a consistent focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field preferred.
Compensation
