Business Intelligence Analyst

We are looking for an experienced BI Analyst to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives in Tallahassee, Florida. This Long-term Contract position focuses on developing robust Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and reports powered by Snowflake data. The role partners closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to turn reporting needs into scalable, reliable, and high-performing analytical solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine Power BI dataflows and semantic layers using sound dimensional modeling techniques to support consistent reporting outcomes.

• Produce insightful dashboards and analytical reports in Power BI that align with business objectives and provide an intuitive user experience.

• Create sophisticated analytical calculations and reporting logic to enable meaningful metrics, trends, and performance tracking.

• Write, test, and improve complex SQL queries against Snowflake, including advanced query patterns used for reporting and data preparation.

• Work alongside data engineering teams to shape fact and dimension structures that support efficient consumption within Power BI.

• Configure and support Power BI connectivity to Snowflake with attention to reliability, query performance, and efficient data processing.

• Investigate and resolve reporting and dataset performance issues across Power BI models, SQL logic, and Snowflake processing layers.

• Maintain clear documentation for metadata, report definitions, and data lineage to strengthen governance, transparency, and long-term supportability.

Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with dimensional modeling and star schema concepts for building effective semantic models.
• Strong knowledge of Power BI, including data modeling, Power Query, and advanced calculation development.
• Proficiency in SQL with the ability to build and optimize complex queries for analytical and reporting use cases.
• Experience working with Snowflake, including dataset optimization, performance tuning, and secure data access concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into structured reporting solutions and actionable analytics outputs.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and engineering teams while operating with limited supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and analytical skills with a focus on scalable and high-performance reporting environments.

Compensation

$45.00-$50.00 Hourly
