This position’s primary focus is to ensure that operational functions within the organization meet the quality standards established by the Company, its customers, and applicable regulatory stakeholders. The position oversees inspections of active and completed work as well as field documentation of production progress throughout the project lifecycle within the Company’s GIS platform. Its focus on communication and organization facilitates the efficient flow of information between Quality Control staff and operational divisions throughout the Company.

What you’ll do
• Oversee the planning, organizing, scheduling, execution, monitoring and successful completion of inspections for active construction and completed work orders throughout the Company
• Oversees field inspection activities related to documenting construction progress and updating production information within the Company’s GIS platform
• Ensures field observations, production updates, inspection findings and supporting documentation are accurate and completed in a timely manner
• Maintains complete knowledge of Company, customer and regulatory requirements related to operational work performed under each individual contract
• Maintains regular and consistent communication with Construction and PMO Management teams regarding production progress, project roadblocks, quality concerns and documentation flow
• In conjunction with Senior Leadership, establishes Quality Control processes and procedures that reflect the Company’s commitment to consistent quality standards and accurate production reporting
• Ensures the appropriate and timely documentation of Quality Control efforts throughout the organization
• Utilizes and provides meaningful and timely reports to management using key performance indicators to communicate production progress and the effectiveness of Quality Control efforts
• Performs the duties of other Quality Control staff as needed
• Effectively hires and manages Quality Control Department staff and, in conjunction with Management and the Human Resources Department, prepares and executes employee-related documentation and employee development and engagement efforts
• Travels throughout the Company footprint as required
• Performs other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- Associates degree in a utility construction-related program and 5+ years of related work experience with a focus on quality work and contractual adherence, or combination of education and experience required;
- Working knowledge of communication utility prints, specs and units;
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions, correspondence and memos including contract language and unit descriptions;
- Effective and respectful written and verbal communication with all applicable stakeholders, both internal and external, at all levels of the organization;
- Team oriented, keeping the organizational needs at the forefront;
- Proficient use of computer hardware and software including but not limited to Internet software and databases. Familiarity with Google-based applications is preferred;
- Understanding and use of general arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, units of measure and weight using whole numbers, fractions and decimals;
- Ability to work flexible hours including long hours and weekends as needed;
- Valid driver’s license with favorable driving record required.

- Ability to safely wear various forms of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye, foot and hearing protection, safety vest and hard hat;
