Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
• Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Manage the month-end close process, including general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, and resolution of reporting issues.
• Partner with department leaders to build annual budgets, update forecasts, and explain variances with actionable recommendations.
• Establish and refine reporting procedures and internal controls that improve efficiency, protect company assets, and support reliable financial data.
• Coordinate audit activities by organizing required documentation, working with external auditors, and helping implement improvements based on findings.
• Oversee payroll administration to confirm accurate and timely employee payments, proper deductions, and compliant related accounting entries.
• Direct accounts payable and accounts receivable operations to support timely invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and effective credit practices.
• Analyze financial results, identify inconsistencies or risk areas, and communicate key findings to management for follow-up.
• Supervise a small accounting team by assigning work, supporting development, monitoring performance, and addressing operational concerns.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
• At least 5 years of financial management or accounting leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliation.
• Experience preparing financial statements and supporting external or internal audit processes.
• Background in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting, including standard cost accounting.
• Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to oversee payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions with a high level of accuracy.
• Advanced degree or accounting certification is preferred.
The salary range for this position is $38/hour to $45/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
