Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract assignment based in Marlborough, Massachusetts. This role will play a key part in month-end activities, financial reporting, and reconciliation work while partnering with leadership on accurate and timely reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage detailed accounting tasks in a structured environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and provide clear analysis of budget-to-actual or period-over-period fluctuations for leadership review, including materials presented to the Board of Directors.

• Execute month-end close activities by recording journal entries, reviewing account activity, and maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

• Produce recurring monthly organizational reports with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.

• Complete a high volume of monthly account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified, researched, and resolved promptly.

• Perform daily reconciliation tasks to confirm financial data is current, balanced, and properly supported.

• Assist with accounting-related work tied to the implementation of automated reconciliation processes, including coordination, testing, or related support activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience managing month-end close processes in an accounting environment with strong attention to detail.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and balance sheet review.
• Ability to analyze financial results and explain variances in a clear, business-focused manner.
• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling recurring accounting tasks.
• Capacity to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and support ongoing reporting requirements in a contract role.

Compensation

$40.00-$45.00 Hourly
