Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to provide critical accounting support in a hybrid, Long-term Contract role based in Morristown, New Jersey. This position will help maintain accurate financial reporting, support close activities, and strengthen day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of corporate and public accounting experience, along with advanced Excel skills and hands-on knowledge of NetSuite.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure reliable reporting and alignment with company accounting standards.
• Lead detailed reconciliations across balance sheet, bank, and income statement accounts, investigating discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
• Support month-end and year-end close by preparing journal entries, recording accruals and prepaids, and maintaining the general ledger with accuracy.
• Assemble reporting schedules and evaluate financial results to provide leadership with clear insight into business performance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to confirm transactions are recorded correctly and that accounting procedures are followed consistently.
• Prepare audit and compliance support materials, including documentation needed for external auditors, tax reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
• Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to increase efficiency and strengthen financial accuracy.
• Manage monthly consolidations, oversee recurring check runs, and handle accruals related to clinical trials and purchase orders as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of accounting experience combining public accounting and corporate accounting responsibilities.
• Demonstrated background in month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and practical experience using NetSuite in an accounting environment.
• Familiarity with biopharma accounting operations and the financial requirements common to that industry.
• Experience working within a public company setting and understanding related reporting expectations.
• Hands-on knowledge of clinical trial accruals and purchase order accrual accounting.
• Big 4 audit experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accuracy in a hybrid work environment.

Compensation

$30.09-$34.84 Hourly
