Zebra POS Engineer

We are looking for a Zebra POS Engineer to support enterprise point-of-sale device solutions in Hollywood, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone with hands-on experience managing Zebra mobile hardware in controlled Android environments and resolving issues across applications, device settings, and endpoint integrations. The role will focus on improving device performance, supporting secure deployments, and troubleshooting technical challenges in production operations.

Responsibilities:
• Configure and support Zebra enterprise devices, including TC-series hardware, using platform tools such as DataWedge, Enterprise Browser, and MX or OEMConfig.
• Administer Android enterprise mobility solutions in managed environments, applying device policies, restrictions, and application controls for secure day-to-day operations.
• Investigate and resolve JavaScript and WebView-related issues in constrained device environments where standard browser debugging methods may be limited.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between device-side applications and backend REST API endpoints.
• Partner with engineering and support teams to deploy, test, and optimize POS device functionality across enterprise environments.
• Monitor device behavior, diagnose configuration problems, and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and user experience.
• Support application lifecycle activities, including provisioning, updates, policy changes, and issue resolution on locked-down Android devices.
• Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and technical standards to promote consistency across deployments and ongoing support.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working with Zebra enterprise device deployments rather than general Android hardware support.
• Strong knowledge of Zebra technologies such as DataWedge, Enterprise Browser, MX or OEMConfig, and TC-series devices.
• Hands-on background with Android enterprise device management platforms, including MobiControl or comparable tools such as Jamf or VMware Workspace ONE.
• Ability to troubleshoot JavaScript behavior within embedded WebView or similarly restricted runtime environments.
• Experience working with REST APIs and supporting communication between mobile devices and backend services.
• Familiarity with Android device policy management, application distribution, and support for secured or locked-down enterprise endpoints.
• Working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Citrix, or Microsoft Exchange is preferred.

Compensation

$51.46-$59.59 Hourly
