Immigration Paralegal

San Jose, CA 95134, US Temporary
Compensation: $40 to $45 Hourly

Established employment-based immigration law firm is seeking an Immigration Paralegal to lead a team supporting a broad range of employment-based immigration matters. This role is ideal for a seasoned immigration paralegal professional with strong case management experience, deep knowledge of employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processes, and the ability to supervise staff in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. This position requires on-site work in San Jose, CA.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide day-to-day direction to junior immigration staff and paralegals
  • Serve as a liaison between the case team and attorneys and firm leadership
  • Manage and oversee a high-volume caseload involving employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters
  • Review case strategy, analyze supporting documents, and prepare applications and petitions for filing with appropriate government agencies
  • Draft petitions, applications, and support letters demonstrating eligibility for immigration benefits
  • Communicate regularly with clients and foreign nationals regarding case status, procedures, and processing issues
  • Troubleshoot case concerns, support intake, and help establish case strategy
  • Monitor case progress through case management and billing systems
  • Prioritize and assign work, manage team productivity, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist with case review, reporting, and client billing under attorney supervision
  • Promote best practices, process improvement, and strong client service across the team
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys and staff in an on-site team environment



Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree, or Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • 5+ years of employment-based immigration experience in a law firm or similar setting
  • Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for a variety of employment-based nonimmigrant visas
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior staff is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and client service orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with case management systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office, including Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to contribute to a positive team culture

Compensation

$40.00-$45.00 Hourly
