Call Center Representative
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Self-Pay Operations Specialist to support patient account operations, documentation processing, and revenue cycle activities. This role is responsible for managing patient-related requests, reviewing accounts, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely communication with patients, payors, attorneys, and internal departments.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process patient-related documentation requests, including printing and mailing medical records, itemized bills, UB forms, 1500 forms, EOBs, and other required documents.
- Retrieve documentation from multiple sources, including client host systems, EIQ, shared folders, Teams folders, emails, and virtual fax systems.
- Pull, organize, and distribute documentation to appropriate individuals or departments.
- Process daily hardcopy payer documents and ensure timely preparation for mailing.
- Review patient accounts, work queues, work lists, and patient portals to complete assigned tasks and resolve outstanding issues.
- Identify account errors, make corrections when appropriate, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex account issues.
- Respond professionally to inquiries from patients, payors, attorneys, and other stakeholders through email and other communication channels.
- Provide daily reporting on workload volumes, backlogs, and workflow updates.
- Assist with pulling reports and completing special projects as assigned.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve patient concerns and improve the overall patient experience.
- Interpret and explain account information while providing accurate resolutions to complex patient-related situations.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of related healthcare, revenue cycle, patient account, billing, or administrative experience.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze account information, identify discrepancies, and determine appropriate next steps.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience working with patient accounts, medical billing, self-pay operations, or revenue cycle processes.
- Familiarity with healthcare documentation, insurance forms, EOBs, UB forms, and medical records.
- Experience using healthcare systems, work queues, patient portals, and document management tools.
Certification Requirement:
- Must obtain Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification within 9 months of hire (company paid).
Compensation
