Associate Attorney

We are looking for an Associate Attorney to support a dynamic insurance coverage practice in San Francisco, California. This role offers the opportunity to advise insurer clients on coverage matters, represent them in litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, and contribute to a collaborative legal team. The position is well suited for an attorney with at least two years of relevant experience who is ready to take on meaningful casework in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Counsel insurer clients on policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and related legal exposure across a range of matters.
• Manage active files from initial assessment through resolution, ensuring deadlines, strategy decisions, and client communications are handled effectively.
• Draft and review pleadings, coverage opinions, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with strong attention to detail.
• Represent clients in litigation proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and other dispute resolution forums involving insurance-related claims.
• Conduct legal research and apply relevant statutes, case law, and policy language to support case strategy and client recommendations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the practice to develop legal arguments, share insight, and deliver high-quality client service.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders regarding case developments, risk considerations, and next steps.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one applicable U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, or closely related litigation work.
• Demonstrated ability to manage case responsibilities independently while contributing effectively within a team setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain legal issues clearly to clients.
• Experience drafting legal documents and conducting research in support of litigation and coverage matters.
• Solid organizational and case management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines.

Compensation

$140,000.00-$190,000.00 Yearly
