Job Summary
Evaluates business requirements and performs advanced data integration and analysis. Develops advanced analytical and reporting tools utilizing multiple sources of integrated data. Provides technical support.
Essential Functions
Perform advanced data integration and analysis
Analyze federal regulatory changes (e.g., OB3, NSLDS Loan Year classification updates) to assess impact on institutional aid data and system configuration
Identify student population-level effects on aid packaging, eligibility, and reporting through multi-table analysis
Develop and maintain complex SQL queries against PeopleSoft Campus Solutions tables and Data Warehouse to support aid eligibility analysis and compliance reporting
Document query logic, methodology, and intended use for institutional reference
Develop and maintain advanced analytical and reporting tools utilizing integrated financial aid data (PeopleSoft, Tableau, Snowflake, Alteryx)
Develops advanced analytical and reporting tools through the creation and maintenance of Tableau dashboards and Alteryx workflow, providing necessary data to functional financial aid leadership at all campuses and careers
Follow industry standards in reporting tool development to ensure consistency and reliability
Coordinate patch validation and testing in TEST environments prior to production deployment
Escalate complex system issues to senior analysts or Oracle support as appropriate
Document analytical methods, data sources, and findings for internal stakeholders and external audits
Author technical reference documentation for regulatory compliance initiatives (e.g., OB3/PeopleSoft reference guides)
Support award year readiness by validating system data against updated federal aid classifications and reporting requirements
Assist in help ticket resolution, including receiving, triaging, and resolving end user financial aid help tickets related to financial aid systems and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
Document resolutions, workarounds, and known issues for institutional reference
Physical Effort
Most work is sedentary, completed within an office setting. Employee must be able to move about the campus to meetings and travel to locations outside of the University of Pittsburgh.
