As a Lead Wastewater Treatment Operator, you'll be responsible for training and overseeing the daily activities of Operators, solving complex operations problems, and performing maintenance/operations activities at water/wastewater treatment facilities. A minimum of an Oklahoma B-level Wastewater license is required.

We are currently hiring Lead Operators in the Oklahoma City, OK area. The starting hourly pay is based on experience and can be negotiated with enough industry experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage day-to-day activities of operating and maintenance of treatment facilities.
  • Allocate work and provide technical direction, assistance, and training to other personnel.
  • Ensure that all SOPs are followed, and DOT, OSHA, and other requirements are met. Makes recommendations for improving SOPs.
  • Interact with Operations Manager to ensure safety and permit compliance.
  • Interact with contract laboratories to ensure proper reporting limits and any QA/QC issues.
  • Communicate with clients and customers related to routine technical aspects of operations and respond to inquiries.
  • Train employees on proper plant operations, repair and installation techniques, SOPs, and safe work practices
  • Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and operating procedures to help protect employees, customers, and the communities we serve.
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED required. Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related study is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred for some locations).
  • Valid Oklahoma state water or wastewater B-level license/certification is required.
  • 5+ years of water or wastewater experience is required. Supervisory experience is preferred
  • Experience and knowledge with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems is preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge with OSHA requirements, DOT regulations & Utility SOPs. Advanced knowledge of process control measures.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and participate in an on-call schedule as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in confined spaces, and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
