Legal Conflicts Analyst
We are looking for a Conflicts Analysts join our firm in San Francisco This role focuses on evaluating conflicts of interest for new matters and attorney hires, helping the firm meet ethical standards while supporting business growth. The position works closely with attorneys and risk partners to assess issues, guide resolution steps, and maintain compliance with firm policies and conduct requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Assess submissions for new matters and attorney onboarding to identify potential legal or business conflicts and summarize findings for stakeholders.
• Research clients, related parties, and corporate relationships to build a complete picture for conflict analysis.
• Prepare and interpret conflict reports, highlighting key risks, affected parties, and items requiring follow-up.
• Examine waivers, disclosure documents, and engagement terms to confirm they address conflict concerns and align with firm standards.
• Support review of outside counsel guidelines and apply those requirements when evaluating conflict and ethical wall obligations.
• Coordinate with attorneys, conflicts personnel, and risk management leaders to resolve issues tied to new business intake and lateral hires.
• Establish and maintain ethical screens when required, including drafting supporting notices and documentation.
• Protect highly sensitive client and firm information by exercising sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
• Contribute to refinements in conflicts and intake procedures, including testing process improvements and assisting with coverage outside standard business hours when needed.
Qualifications:
• Experience performing conflict checks, legal intake review, or related risk management work within a law firm or services environment.• Strong ability to analyze legal, business, and organizational relationships to identify potential conflict issues.
• Familiarity with engagement letters, waivers, disclosures, and outside counsel guidelines related to conflicts matters.
• Working knowledge of ethical wall procedures and conduct considerations affecting legal practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
• High level of accuracy, discretion, and accountability when handling confidential information.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and collaborate effectively with attorneys and cross-functional teams.
Compensation
