Business Immigration Attorney

A global immigration law firm is seeking an Attorney to support its San Francisco team on a contract basis. This role supports a high-volume caseload of employment-based immigration matters, with a primary focus on Non-Immigrant Visa (NIV) cases across a variety of classifications. Attorneys in this role will be responsible for reviewing, assessing, and finalizing petitions and supporting documentation in a fast-paced environment while working closely with internal teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have broad hands-on NIV experience and a demonstrated ability to succeed within a high-volume business immigration practice.

While this team prefers candidates who can report onsite in San Francisco two days per week, qualified remote candidates who can commit to Pacific Time business hours will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and finalize non-immigrant visa petitions, including H-1B, L-1, TN, E-2, O-1, and related classifications
• Draft and edit petitions, support letters, and legal briefs as needed
• Conduct case assessments and advise internal stakeholders on immigration strategy and eligibility
• Review supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with immigration regulations
• Respond to RFEs and other government inquiries as needed
• Support a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced practice environment

Qualifications:

• J.D. and active U.S. bar admission
• 2–5+ years of business immigration experience as a licensed attorney
• Demonstrated experience handling employment-based NIV matters
• Experience reviewing and/or preparing employment-based immigration petitions in a high-volume environment
• Strong drafting, analytical, and case management skills
• Ability to report onsite in San Francisco two days per week or, if remote, work Pacific Time business hours
