Sr. Accountant
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support financial accuracy and strengthen reporting operations for our client in Coushatta, Louisiana. This role works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable financial information, maintain strong controls, and contribute to sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings a solid accounting foundation, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to improve processes while managing core close and reporting activities.
Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring financial results are recorded completely and on schedule.
• Prepare and evaluate financial reports to confirm accuracy, explain variances, and support management planning.
• Maintain the general ledger through journal entries, account analysis, and timely reconciliation of key balance sheet and bank accounts.
• Partner with operational and administrative teams to gather financial data and translate results into meaningful business insight.
• Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by compiling historical trends, reviewing assumptions, and assisting with financial models.
• Uphold compliance with accounting standards, tax obligations, and internal policies through consistent documentation and control practices.
• Coordinate audit support for both internal and external reviews by organizing schedules, providing backup materials, and responding to inquiries.
• Identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and help implement improved procedures, systems, and reporting practices.
• Assist with tax-related filings and other regulatory reporting requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Contribute to additional accounting and finance projects as business needs evolve
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 to 5 years of accounting experience in a progressively responsible role.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and core financial reporting practices.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software and solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close, general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound analytical problem-solving ability.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across departments.
• CPA credential, senior-level accounting experience, industry-specific knowledge, or familiarity with tax compliance and advanced financial analysis is preferred.
