Benefits Underwriting Specialist
Responsibilities:
• Process quote renewals, replacements, and refresh activities for new business groups with speed and accuracy during peak periods.
• Transfer existing quote information into current plan year formats and verify that data is complete, consistent, and properly organized.
• Prepare revised benefit summaries and plan comparison documents to support updated proposal materials.
• Use underwriting and client-facing applications to maintain quote records and generate comparison outputs for stakeholder review.
• Review documentation carefully to identify discrepancies, missing information, or formatting issues before final release.
• Coordinate with underwriting team members to keep tasks moving efficiently and meet established turnaround expectations.
• Manage clerical and data entry activities related to employee benefits quoting while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
Qualifications:
• Strong clerical, administrative, and data entry skills with excellent attention to detail.• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort using multiple computer applications in a fast-paced office environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and handling detailed information clearly.
• Ability to organize materials, follow structured templates, and manage repetitive processes with consistency.
• Experience supporting insurance, employee benefits underwriting, or quote preparation is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to compare plan details and work accurately with benefit-related documentation.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to handle a busy workload with minimal errors.
Compensation
