Data Analyst

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support them. This 3+ month Contract position will focus on improving the quality and structure of a large vendor data set, developing a practical framework for evaluating third-party cyber risk, and producing reliable insights that support broader risk management efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical judgment, advanced spreadsheet and query skills, and the ability to turn incomplete or inconsistent data into usable information for business decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, standardize, and organize high-volume vendor records to improve data accuracy, consistency, and usability.

• Analyze third-party information to help define and apply a risk-tiering approach for cybersecurity assessments.

• Build repeatable data preparation processes using Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, SQL, and PostgreSQL tools.

• Identify gaps, duplicates, and inconsistencies in source data and resolve issues through structured validation methods.

• Produce clear reports, summaries, and supporting datasets for stakeholders involved in cyber risk management activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify data definitions, align risk criteria, and support vendor-related review initiatives.

• Create foundational data assets that enable broader analysis, tracking, and reporting across the third-party risk program.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data cleansing, or related analytical work.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex data manipulation and validation techniques.
• Hands-on experience with Power Query and Power Pivot for transforming and modeling data.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL for querying, extracting, and organizing information.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large, messy, or incomplete datasets and convert them into reliable outputs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with careful attention to detail and data quality.
• Experience supporting cybersecurity, vendor risk, or third-party risk initiatives is helpful but not required.

Compensation

$43.54-$50.41 Hourly
