Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting operations for a long-term contract opportunity based in Jensen Beach, Florida. This role will focus on maintaining accurate cash activity, strengthening payables processes, and assisting with core ledger responsibilities in a high-volume financial environment. The ideal candidate brings strong reconciliation skills, sound accounting judgment, and the ability to help organize and improve accounting workflows during a period of operational cleanup and process refinement.

Responsibilities:
• Perform daily and monthly reconciliations across a large portfolio of more than 60 bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Manage treasury-related accounting activities, including tracking cash movements and supporting visibility into account balances and transactions.
• Assist with accounts payable cleanup efforts by reviewing outstanding items, correcting discrepancies, and helping restore organized payment records.
• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial data within the general ledger.
• Support general ledger maintenance by reviewing account activity, researching variances, and helping ensure proper account classification.
• Contribute to tax-related accounting support, including work connected to corporate tax, sales tax, and related financial documentation.
• Use QuickBooks to record, review, and organize accounting transactions, reports, and supporting documentation where applicable.
• Help restructure accounting processes and support operational transition activities related to updates in internal financial systems and workflows.

Qualifications:

• Experience in staff accounting or a similar accounting position with hands-on responsibility for reconciliations and ledger support.
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile high volumes of bank activity across multiple accounts with strong attention to detail.
• Background in accounts payable processing, cleanup, or issue resolution within a fast-paced accounting environment.
• Working knowledge of journal entries, general ledger activity, and month-end accounting processes.
• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and related accounting support responsibilities.
• QuickBooks experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage priorities independently.

Compensation

$28.50-$33.00 Hourly
