Staff Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Bergen County, New Jersey. This position requires strong expertise in corporate tax and accounting principles, as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working collaboratively to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

• Manage sales tax filings and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

• Oversee the general ledger and ensure all accounts are properly maintained.

• Assist with tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decisions.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements.

• Provide support during audits and assist with documentation preparation.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure compliance.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in corporate tax and accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and corporate tax processes.
• Proficiency in journal entries and general ledger management.
• Familiarity with accounting software and tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Compensation

$80,000.00-$85,000.00 Yearly
