In House Counsel

We are looking for an experienced In House Counsel to support a wide range of commercial legal matters for an organization based in Tysons, Virginia. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for a licensed attorney who can provide practical legal guidance, prepare and review agreements, and help the business manage contractual risk with confidence. The role requires a strong background in corporate law and the ability to negotiate terms that protect business interests while supporting operational goals. Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and revise a variety of commercial agreements to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.

• Lead contract discussions with external parties and advise stakeholders on legal risk, key terms, and negotiation strategy.

• Provide day-to-day legal counsel on corporate matters, including interpretation of obligations, rights, and regulatory considerations.

• Draft clear and enforceable contractual language for new business arrangements, renewals, amendments, and licensing-related documents.

• Partner with internal teams to identify legal concerns early and recommend practical solutions that support timely decision-making.

• Assess proposed agreements for exposure related to liability, performance obligations, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.

• Maintain organized documentation of legal agreements and support contract lifecycle activities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Active license to practice law and ability to perform legal work relevant to the position.
• Demonstrated experience handling commercial contracts from drafting through negotiation and execution.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law principles and their application in a business environment.
• Proven ability to interpret complex legal terms and translate them into practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
• Excellent contract drafting skills with close attention to detail and risk mitigation.
• Effective negotiation skills with the ability to balance legal protections and business priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation

$95.00-$110.00 Hourly
