Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Houston, Texas, on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent role. This position is suited for someone who enjoys accurate financial processing, organized recordkeeping, and consistent follow-through with vendors and internal stakeholders. The role offers an opportunity to support day-to-day payables operations while contributing to efficient month-to-month accounting activities.

Responsibilities:
• Process a high volume of vendor invoices with careful attention to coding, approvals, and payment timelines.
• Review vendor statements regularly, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Enter numeric financial data accurately into accounting systems and maintain complete supporting documentation.
• Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central to manage accounts payable transactions and update payment records.
• Prepare and reconcile accounts payable reports to help ensure balances are current and accurate.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address invoice questions, payment status updates, and account issues.
• Support spreadsheet-based tracking and analysis in Microsoft Excel for payment schedules, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Assist with bilingual communication in Spanish when interacting with vendors or team members, as needed.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing, vendor statement review, and payment reconciliation practices.
• Strong numeric data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or a comparable ERP/accounting platform.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for organizing data, tracking payments, and performing basic analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow established financial procedures.
• Spanish language skills are preferred for effective communication in a bilingual business environment.

Compensation

$23.00-$25.00 Hourly
