Accounts Payable Clerk

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join a service-focused organization in Comstock Park, Michigan on a Contract basis. This position supports daily payables operations by ensuring invoices are reviewed, entered, and processed accurately while maintaining strong communication with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in Epicor to keep payment activities on schedule and records up to date.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming vendor invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation before processing.
• Enter invoice details into Epicor with a high level of accuracy and within established timelines.
• Compare invoices against purchase orders, receiving records, and related documents to confirm alignment.
• Research billing differences, pricing concerns, and payment exceptions, then coordinate resolution with the appropriate contacts.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice status, payment timing, and account questions.
• Prepare and process payment transactions, including check runs and other approved disbursement methods.
• Maintain organized accounts payable records so documents are easy to retrieve and audit-ready.
• Support month-end activities by assisting with reconciliations and other closing-related payables tasks.
• Follow company policies and internal control standards throughout the accounts payable process.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.
• Hands-on background in invoice entry, coding, matching, and discrepancy resolution.
• Working knowledge of Epicor is required.
• Strong data entry accuracy with close attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with vendors and internal departments.
• Familiarity with payment processing activities, including check runs.

Compensation

$20.00-$24.00 Hourly
