Sr. Accountant

Compensation: $110 to $115 Yearly

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Bergen County, New Jersey. This role is integral to managing financial operations and ensuring accurate accounting practices, particularly within the real estate sector. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and construction cost accounting.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Manage the general ledger and maintain accurate journal entries.

• Perform account reconciliations, including multi-entity and intercompany transactions.

• Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.

• Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with operations, construction, and management teams to align financial processes with organizational goals.

• Utilize accounting systems like NetSuite and property management platforms such as AppFolio to streamline workflows.

• Maintain detailed records related to real estate investments and construction projects.

• Ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements and development financing guidelines.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5–10 years of accounting experience, including expertise in real estate investment and construction accounting.
• Proficiency in multi-entity accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems like NetSuite and property management tools like AppFolio.
• Advanced Excel skills, including experience with complex financial reporting.
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with affordable housing, development financing, and lender reporting is preferred.

Compensation

$110,000.00-$115,000.00 Yearly
